One of the top private companies in the Kansas City metro has a new COO.
Lenexa-based City Wide Maintenance and its subsidiary, City Wide Franchise, hired Kansas City native Troy Hartman to fill the role. City Wide Maintenance, which manages maintenance services for commercial facilities, reported its best year yet in 2019, with systemwide revenue eclipsing $300 million.
In a Tuesday release, the company said that “despite a time of uncertainty,” it has continued to meet its monthly revenue goals.
Hartman built an 18-year career at Quest Diagnostics Co.’s ExamOne, where he started out as vice president of paramedical operations and eventually became president.
“Troy joined our team during a time where we were moving fast and things were changing just as fast, but he jumped right in without any hesitation,” Jeff Oddo, president of City Wide Maintenance and City Wide Franchise, said in the release. “We are excited to have him be a part of the City Wide family and continue to help us carry out our growth goals.”
Oddo told the Kansas City Business Journal in January that part of the company’s 10-year goal includes averaging $100 million a year in growth for the next six years. It currently employs about 450 people.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, City Wide pivoted to promote previously underutilized services – cleaning and disinfecting. The move helped the company reach record monthly revenue from March to June, according to the release. Its subsidiary also signed three new franchise deals since March and expects to sign more in the near future.
Work on its new Lenexa headquarters has continued to hum along. City Wide, along with sister companies Oddo Development BASYS Processing, plan to debut their 90,000-square-foot shared headquarters in July at 15230 W. 105th Terrace.
City Wide and its sister companies rank No. 61 on the Kansas City Business Journal’s Largest Private Companies List.
